Full Description
Five roughly bowl-shaped features contained daub and pottery sherds indicating an early medieval date. The fills also contained much charcoal, together with both slag and hammerscale, indicating ironworking. The features probably represent either ploughed-out ash pits, metalworking hearths or fire pits. (1)
Medieval features and finds nearby are detailed in TQ 96 NW 109.
