Full Description
A large feature or a series of smaller features (?) were observed during the watching brief, cutting the natural subsoil. The feature edges had a greenish tinge, suggesting the feature(s) once contained water or cess. The feature(s) had been backfilled with dump deposits before the post medieval buildings (TQ 96 SW 211) had been built on top of them. The report suggests the feature(s) may relate to undated quarrying in the area [1].
