Monument record TQ 76 NE 401 - Iron Age - Roman Field System, Grange, Gillingham
Summary
A number of boundary/drainage ditches dating to the late Iron Age/early Roman period and early to late Roman period suggesting a field system pattern across the area in existence during the Iron Age and Roman periods. Finds of household waste, animal bones and oyster shell, suggest that a core settlement existed nearby, possibly on the site of Grench Manor TQ 76 NE 387.
