A small assemblage of prehistoric flint was found during evaluation work at St. Mary's RC Primary School, Deal. The flints were discovered in a roothole and the subsoil. The assemblage comprised of a number of prehistoric calcined flints and struck flint, including a rough core. The majority of the flints were found in the roothole, along with a few sherds of medieval pottery. The flints suggest prehistoric activity in the general area (confirmed by previous discoveries along Mill Hill ridge) [1].

During later watching brief work a further struck flint, possibly a scraper, was recovered [2].
