Findspot record TQ 75 NW 41 - Early-medieval spearhead, Cobdown Wood, Ditton

Summary

In 1962 an Anglo Saxon spearhead was found in a sandy knoll at Cobdown, Ditton. Any possible grave on the knoll was destroyed in the making of a cutting through the site. The spearhead is 9.5 inches long (24cm). The point and part of the socket are missing and it has an angular blade and split socket. It is in store at Maidstone Museum.
