Full Description
A watching brief to the rear of the Smugglers restaurant, revealed a brick lined well in the vicinity of a demolished toilet building. The report suggests that the well is associated with the 18th century phase of construction and use of the Smugglers Restaurant building. The well was over 20m deep, but no dating material was recovered from it and it was due to be backfilled as part of the new construction works [1].
