Full Description
TQ 700580 (sited to place name only). 3 mesolithic microliths, an unspecified number of blades or flakes and one other implement have been found in east Malling. Information from R.M. Jacobi. (1) East Malling. From the immeditate neighbourhood of East Malling, situated on the Lower Greensand formation, Mr J.K. Hardy has obtained an interesting series of flakes, including one with serrations, together with three microliths, two of the obliquely blunted point type, and one trimmed on both edges to form a point. As a whole the industry is fresh and unpatinated and of a pale grey colour, though in a few cases incipient patination has given a bluish tinge. (2) Mesolithic site at East Malling. (3)
