Monument record TR 06 SW 252 - Brickearth diggings and post-medieval claypit, Abbey Road, Faversham
Summary
Brickearth diggings and a post medieval clay pit were identified during an archaeological watching brief at Abbey Road Faversham. The clay pit was dated on the basis of post medieval detritus remoived from its fill such as shell, glass, bone and clay pipes. Overall very few small finds were recovered. It was suggested that the clay pit may have supplied a suspected brick kiln in the garden of Abbey Farm (TR 06 SW 197). No trace of the monastic St. Saviours Abbey sewer was identified.
