Summary

Full Description
Stone rubble road surfaces of the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century producing pottery of early modern date were revealed in the grounds of The Cottage during trenching for a flood alleviation scheme in Buckland Lane. No other archaeology was observed. Pottery of the period 1780-1825 was recovered from soil deposits associated with the road surfaces. This corresponds well with the map evidence for the area.(1)
