Full Description
Archaeological works revealed a north-south running wall, formed of granite blocks. It had a dressed western face, abutted by a slipway exposed during the previous evaluation work and a irregular eastern face. At the northern end of the wall, an upright block of Portland Stone was recorded, previously identified as a War Department Marker Stone-illustrated on the First Edition Map. This marker stone was removed from the wall, to be incorporated into the finished landscaping of the site (1and 2). See also TR 23 NW 271-Building record of the former Sea Cadet Buildings on-site.
