Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 1715 HIGH STREET (South Side)
Nos 19, 21 & 21A TQ 8833 1/7 8.5.50.
II GV
2. C18. A house and 2 shops. 3 storeys timber-framed faced with mathematical tiles with long and short painted wooden quoins and bracket eaves cornice. Hipped tiled roof. 4 sashes with glazing bars intact. Modern shop fronts with original doorcase between the pilasters, pediment, segmental fanlight and 6-panel moulded door. The easternmost window space on the 1st and 2nd floors is occupied by a loft door with a window in it and there was formerly hoist machinery beside it. This suggests that the property was originally a miller's or chandler's warehouse. The side elevation has 2 outside chimney stacks and is part tile-hung.
All the listed buildings on the South side from Nos 17 to 57 form a group.
