The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 1715 HIGH STREET (South Side) No 17 TQ 8833 1/6 8.5.50.

2. A C15 timber-framed house. 2 storeys and attics. The 1st floor is close- studded with heavy moulded bressumer beneath it and another smaller beam projecting below the 1st floor windows. The 1st floor was jettied, but modern shop fronts have been built out beneath it. Steeply pitched tiled roof with 1 stack. 1 hipped dormer. 2 casement windows with diamond panes and original glass on the 1st floor.
All the listed buildings on the South side from Nos 17 to 57 form a group.
