The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 BETHERSDEN THE STREET (north side) Bethersden Post Office and Wood Cottage TQ 9240 21/60 II GV 2. Early C19. Two storeys. Ground floor red brick with grey headers. First floor tile-hung. Hipped slate roof. Four sashes with glazing bars intact, including one in a recessed portion on the right, which is Wood Cottage. Simple doorcase and rectangular fanlight.
