2. Situated on an island in the High Street. Formerly the Market building, now sub- divided into shops. Mid Cl9. 2 storeys stuccoed. Central pediment with modillion eaves cornice. Slate roof. 4 plain pilasters rising the whole height of the building. Modillion band above shop fronts. 10 sashes of varying sizes with glazing bars intact. West end is rounded with paired Tuscan columns to 1st floor level, rusticated ground floor and a round window in the gable end. Modern shop fronts. Nos 1-5 form a group.
