[TQ 78315168] Roman foundations found 1933 (1) At TQ 78315166, in a freshly ploughed field some 330.0m north east of the site of the Brishing Roman bath-house (TQ 75 SE 1), there is a concentration of ragstone fragments, larger than generally occur in the field, interspersed with pieces of Roman brick and tile. There is a scatter of potsherds mostly RB but some probably IA. The local farmworkers have long suspected a building stood here from the abundence of stone turned up by the plough but nothing else is known to have been found. No further information on the site was obtained at Maidstone Museum. Surveyed at 1:2500. (2) Additional bibliography. (3 - 5) KE 12 Listed as the possible site of a Roman villa. (6-7)
