The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 GREAT CHART THE STREET (south-east side) Chart House TQ 9842 26/56 14.2.67. II 2. C18 front to an older building. Two storeys red brick and grey headers. Hipped tiled roof and parapet. Five windows. Irregular fenestration with the glazing bars missing. The 2 south-westernmost window bays are flanked by narrow pilasters. Doorcase in moulded architrave surround with projecting cornice over.
