The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 BETHERSDEN THE STREET (south side) Beacon House TQ 9340 21/15 II GV 2. C18 exterior, possibly with earlier core. Two storeys red brick. Hipped tiled roof. Three sashes with glazing bars missing. Two modern bays on ground floor. Doorcase between these with pilasters, pediment and low rectangular fanlight. Chimney breast in east wall. Modern additions behind.
