The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 CHARING CHURCH HILL Charing Heath The Thatched Cottage TQ 94 NW 10/65 II 2. C18 or earlier. One storey and attic vitreous red brick. Hipped thatched roof with one gabled dormer surrounded by a tiled square. Three casement windows.

The Thatched Cottage appears from historic mapping to have originally existed as two cottages before becoming a single property at some time after 1907. (2)
