Full Description
Description from record TR 04 NE 19:
TR 06244975 Trimworth Manor (NAT) (1) Tremworth is a moated mansion, and some of the walls of the domestic chapel are still standing. (2) Tremworth Manor - the building is new except for traces of the earlier timbered house in one corner at the back. A pond is all that remainsof the moat. Flint foundations in an adjoining field may be the site of the domestic chapel. (3) Trimworth Manor is a mainly C19th farmhouse of little architectural interest. There is no evidence of a moat but at the foot of the terrace on which the house stands there are the remains of a large retaining bank, 10.0m in width and about 1.5m in height, part of a leet from the Stour, which may have been mistaken for a moat. In the orchard on the N. side of the house there are a number of banks and lynchets. Sir Edward Hardy who has farmed this land for many years had no knowledge of the supposed chapel nor of the foundations which are thought to have marked its site (a).
