The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH HALDEN 1. 5272 High Halden Post Office and B V and J Cooke Stores TQ 9037 17/173 II GV
2. Probably a late mediaeval hall-house. A timber-framed building refaced with weatherboarding, the south-easternmost window bay tile bung with jettied gable, probably C19. Two storeys and attics. Steeply pitched hipped tiled roof with one hipped dormer and attic window in gable. Three casement windows except on the 1st floor below the gable where there is a bay window. Modern shop front.
