The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 14 SW BRABOURNE THE STREET (south side)
5/26 Coquet Lodge 27.11.57 GV II
House. Late C17 and c.1800, in 2 builds. Red brick and plain tiled roof. Two storeys, on plinth to right, with hipped roof, stepped down to left to hipped wing, with stacks at end right and at end left. Main block (to right) with 2 glazing bar sashes and horizontally sliding glazing bar sash to centre on 1st floor, and 2 glazing bar sashes and 18 paned C19 shop window to end right on ground floor. Two C20 glazing bar casements on each floor to left, with sash to left on ground floor. Boarded door at end left and door of 6 raised and fielded panels to centre left with segmental head and flat hood on brackets. Some English bond brickwork on right return. InitiaUedbrick (C18) E.P. to left of main door. The interior largely reconstructed, the. building previously occupied as a shop, public house and 2 cottages (all at same time).
