The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 EGERTON CROCKEN HILL ROAD Ragged House Farmhouse TQ 94 NW 10/27 II 2. C18 exterior. Two storeys red brick. Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof with part pentice behind. Three windows, some casement windows and some sashes with glazing bars intact. Attached at the north end is a Kentish ragstone cylindrical oast, now adapted for residential use with cowl and fantail missing.
