Summary
17th C+ house Grade II* listed building. Main construction periods 1791 to 1933. cross wing house which was remodelled by B.H Latrobe circa 1791-92 and largely rebuilt by Sir Herbert Baker in 1932-33 following fire damage. The building is rendered and has a slate roof. The main range is double-depth and runs east-west and has a cross wing to the west end which projects slightly. A conservatory is stuccoed and is on two moulded stone steps. The service wing runs north from the east end of the north elevation, and is also stuccoed. William Wilberforce stayed here frequently during the late 18th century.
