The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 SHADOXHURST WOODCHURCH ROAD The King's Head Inn TQ 93 NE 19/9
II 2. L-shaped building. The south wing is probably C17. Two storeys and attics. Timber framed, now refaced in red brick on the ground floor and hung with curved tiles above. Hipped tiled roof with one hipped dormer. Two windows. Porch with shaped Dutch gable containing a cartouche with the crest of the Toke family, formerly of Godinton, Great Chart. This wing has an inglenook fireplace. The east-west wing to the north is a Cl9 addition of 2 storeys, stuccoed with slate roof and bracket eaves cornice. Three sashes without glazing bars.
