The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 SHADOXHURST BETHERSDEN ROAD Little Criol (formerly listed as Little Criol Farmhouse) TQ 93 NE 19/13 17.9.52. II 2. A 2 storeyed timber-framed building, probably a late mediaeval hall-house. The first floor has exposed diagonal braces with plaster infilling. The ground floor is rebuilt in brick, now painted. Hipped tiled roof with C17 brick chimney stack and smoke louvres. Three casement windows.
