Additonal bibliography. (2)
Building survey undertaken by Archaeology South East in 2005. Three main phases of construction. Built in the mid-late C17, as a four-bay single-aisled building with an adjoining lean-to at the eastern end. The first floor may have been partitioned at the eastern end. In the C19 this floor partitioning (if it existed) was removed. Additionally a further lean-to was added to the southern wall, and an open-fronted shelter was added to the west of this. The eastern lean-to was demolished in the late C19. Further small additions were made throughout the C20. (3)
A watching brief undertaken by Archaeology South East in 2004 during the installation of new audience seating in the barn reavealed probable C19 and C20 floor surfaces, and a possible medieval layer. (3)
