Summary

Roman occupation site found during excavations at Fort Pitt, Chatham. The finds included parts of a human skeleton, animal remains, pottery, numerous oyster shells and a number of other miscellaneous objects. The pottery ranged in date from c. A.D.50 to the 4th century. The finds are now in Maidstone Museum.
