During excavations at Fort Pitt, Chatham, in connection with the levelling of the site for education purposes in 1931, parts of a human skeleton, animal remains, (Bos Longifrons, etc.), pottery, numerous oyster shells and miscellaneous objects were found. The pottery consisted of a bead-rim pot (C. A.D.50), a one-handled jug (c. A.D.100), the lower portion of a large vessel (prob. c. A.D.200), and a fragment of a 4th c. dish of black ware. (1-2)
No confirmation of siting was gained during field investigation. Finds in Maidstone Museum. (3)
