The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 1715 EAST CROSS (West Side)
Nos 12, 13 & 14 (The Armoury) TQ 8833 1/88 8.5.50.

2. Built as one composition. C18. 3 storeys. Ground floor painted brick, above tile-hung. It consists of a centre block of 3 windows with eaves cornice and 3 dormers, and end window bays with higher elevation and no dormers. Eaves cornice above the 2nd floor and hipped roofs. 5 sashes in all with most glazing bars missing. Nos 13 and 14 have pediments over the doorcases. No 12 has been refronted with weatherboarding above the ground floor and a large bay window added on all floors. Nos 13 and 14 have small bay windows on the ground floor only and No 14 has a 2nd modern bay window as well.
All the listed buildings on-the West Side of East Cross form a group.
