Description from record TQ 83 SE 17:
(TQ 88843366) OS 1:2500 1971 1715 EAST HILL (North Side) No 3 (East Hill House) TQ 8833 1/127 8.5.50. Grade II* 2. C18. 3 storeys red brick. Hipped roof with wooden bracket eaves cornice. 5 sashes with glazing bars intact. In the centre of the 1st floor is a Venetian window with a moulded frieze and pointed divisions to the centre head. Above it is an unusual circular window with divisions like a catherine wheel. Wide doorcase up 6 steps with pilasters, large pediment, long rectangular fanlight and 4-panel moulded doorcase, the door being flanked on either side within the pilasters with narrow panelled strips. The side elevations are tile- hung. The interior has an C18 staircase with 3 balusters to each tread. (1) East Hill House. One of the best examples of 18th century Tenterden vernacular. Three storeys and five bays, tile-hung, the front of pink mathematical tiles. Up the middle of the facade, a wide doorway with a pediment decorated with little Gothic corbels, next a Venetian window with a moulded frieze and rusticated arch, and at the top of a round window whirling round like a mouchette wheel.
