Summary

A hoard of Roman coins from the regin of Emperor Constantine. The 80 small brass coins were found in a chest of drawers in a house in Chatham. Possibly part of a hoard of coins found near Grange Farm in Gillingham (see TQ 76 NE 18).

Full Description

"A Constantinian hoard, of 80 small brass coins, was foud in a house at Chatham and thought to be from the Chatham or Rochester neighbourhood". The author (1) [B. Harrison or G. Payne], obtained possession of the coins through an intermediary (W. Coles Finch, Engineer of the Chatham Waterworks). Formerly, they were in the possession of an old lady, who found them in a bag in a chest of drawers she owned (1-2). No further information was obtained from (3).
