A detailed assessment of the mill was prepared as part of a 2015 planning application. In the time of James Wildman (1794-1816) the mill was referred to as ‘French’ mill due to the type of millstones used. The original mill on the site was replaced between 1830 and 1850 with a new mill in its current form. (2)
A supplementary heritage assessment was prepared subsequently in 2018. (3)
A building survey completed in 2021 stated that the Gross Internal Area of the mill is 559.1 square metres. (4)
