Tanden Farmhouse consists of five timber bays with later additions at each end. The majority of the roof has been replaced. In 2007 a dendrochronological assessment was carried out by Tree-Ring Services. Ten samples were taken from the timber frame of the building. Two precise felling dates in the winters of 1525/6 and 1528/9, along with three other consistent felling date ranges, indicate that the three west bays were probably built as a single phase in 1529 or soon after.
