The following text is from the original listed building designation:
BIDDENDEN HIGH STREET 1. 5272 (north side) No 28 (West House) TQ 8538 16/60 4.6.52. II GV 2. C16 or earlier timber-framed building with traces of timbering and plaster infilling on the ground floor. Largely refaced, on the ground floor with brick, now painted, and above tile hung, but retaining the wide overhang of its 1st floor on a bressummer and brackets with a bellcast above. Two storeys. Tiled roof. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. Three sash windows with vertical glazing bars intact. Two small bays on the ground floor. Four centred wooden doorway with carved spandrels and low rectangular fanlight above. Contemporary paving of Bethersden marble forms footpath in front and extending to south-east about 12 yards.
