TR 04 SE BRABOURNE CANTERBURY ROAD East Brabourne (west side) 4/11 Penstock Hall 27.11.57

House. C16 and clad C18 with C19 rear wing. Timber framed and clad with red brick with tile hanging on left return with plain tiled roof. Two storeys on plinth with plat band, return to right, with hipped roof with gablets and central stack. Regular fenestration of 2 leaded wooden casements on 1st floor with central round head sash with Y-tracery leaded lights, and 2 segmentally headed mullion and transomed and leaded wooden casements (C20) on ground floor. Central half-glazed panelled door with rectangular fanlight and pediment on pilasters with entablature blocks. Rear range, half-hipped, with gabled half dormer. Interior: stop chamfered cross-beamed ceiling with mortice holes for jettying, with dragon beam in northern end room. Exposed framed rear wall (now internal to rear range) with diagonally-set wooden mullioned window. Good early C18 2 panelled and studded door.
