The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 03 NE ALDINGTON FORGE HILL (west side) 4/30 Walnut 13.10.52 Tree Inn GV II Inn. C17 or earlier clad .C18. Timber framed on painted ragstone base and clad with painted brick. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys on plinth with dentilled brick eaves cornice to hipped roof (half-hipped to left) with stacks to centre left and to rear right. Three 4 light leaded casements on each floor, those on ground floor with segmental heads, and door of 6 moulded panels to centre left with flat hood on brackets. Wrought iron sign bracket to right. Rear elevation of several tile hung hipped wings with catslide outshot. Interior: partial frame; inglenook fireplaces, bread oven, old brick floor in rear kitchen/bar.
