1. 5272 SMARDEN THE STREET (north side) The Brothers House (formerly listed as The Brothers under High Street TQ 8842 29/6 14.2.67.

2. Probably a late mediaeval timber-framed building, refaced with red brick on the ground floor and weatherboarding above. Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof. Two doorcases with joint flat hood over and doors of 6 fielded panels. Two storeys, 3 windows.

Timber framed 2-bay 2-storey cross wing formerly jettied along the external side and possibly the front. In the mid 16th century two open bays were added at the rear probably forming a kitchen. (2)
