Description from record TQ 92 NW 3:
[TQ 94012734] St. Mary's Church [NAT] (1) The Church of St Mary, Stone-cum-Ebony, is perpendicular throughout. (2) The Church at Stone was burnt down in 1464 and subsequently rebuilt. (3) In normal use. (4) 5272 Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Stone-cum-Ebony. TQ 92 NW 13/381 16.8.62. Grade II* Chancel with north and south chapels, nave with aisles, south porch and west tower with beacon turret. The whole church was rebuilt aftera fire in 1464. Three bay nave with crown post roof. Late Perpendicular screen to north chapel. Restoration by Ewan Christian 1874. Roman altar to Mithras under the tower. (TQ 92 NW 4). (5) St Mary, Stone-in-Oxney. A complete perpendicular church, rebuilt after a fire of 1464. (6) Additional bibliography - not consulted. (7-10)
