The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. CHARING HIGH STREET 5272 (west side) Nos 5 and 7 TQ 9549 22/87 (The Royal Oak Public House) II GV 2. C18 with mid C19 facade. Two storeys stuccoed. Tiled roof. Two gables with wooden bargeboards. Moulded stringcourse. Pour sashes with verticals only and 2 blanks to first floor. The ground floor has 3 modern windows, one blank and 3 doors. The side elevation is of red brick with grey headers. Included for group value.
