The following text is from the original listed building designation:

Well-House in grounds of Hales Place TQ 8833 1/125A 8.5.50.

2. In the garden to the north of the house is a small red brick building with crow-stepped gables at the ends, which was the well-house. Also early C16. Illustrated in Nathaniel Lloyd's History of English Brick-work.
Hales Place and the listed buildings in the grounds form a group.
