Full Description
Burnt House Farm (listed under the name of Burnt House), Bedlam Lane, is a building of c1950. The current house replaced an earlier house of similar size and footprint, the outline of which can be see on historic Ordnance Survey maps; it is understood that this original house was destroyed after being hit by a Doodlebug in July 1944. In 1980 the current house was included in a listing re-survey of the area, and although it is understood from the owner that the building was already listed by this date, the list entry gives the date of the re-survey as the date of the listing. The list entry describes the building as being the surviving part of a late medieval hall-house. The description could relate to a nearby building (known as Watersheet Farmhouse), however this building is listed under its own similar, but different, list description.

2. Probably the remaining half of a late mediaeval hall-house. Two storeys. Ground floor painted brick, first floor tile-hung. Hipped tiled roof with smoke louvre to one side. Two casements. Outside chimney stack.
