The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 BETHERSDEN ASHFORD ROAD Island Farmhouse TQ 9339 21/23 14.2.67 II 2. Late mediaeval timber-framed building of 2 storeys, with the timber-framing and plaster infilling visible on the first floor of the east wall but otherwise refaced with red brick. Hipped tiled roof. Three casement windows.
