The following text is from the original listed building designation:

No 11 (The William Caxton Inn) TQ 8733 SE 2/66A 8.4.70.

2. The western half is a timber-framed building refaced with roughcast on the ground floor and tile hanging above. Steeply pitched hipped tiled roof with old brick chimney. Modern windows. The eastern half is an early Cl9 addition in matching materials. 2 parallel ranges. The ground floor is roughcast and the 1st floor is tile-hung. 2 storeys. 8 windows.
No 9 & 11 form a group with all the listed buildings on the east side of Smallhythe Road from Nos 1 to 17.
