Monument record TQ 76 NW 15 - Early medieval inhumation burials, Eastgate, Rochester

Summary

Circa twenty early medieval inhumation burials were found by workmen in October 1852 during the building of the Orange Terrace at the foot of Star Hill, Eastgate, Rochester. Grave goods included spearheads and armillae. Finds from the cemetery are in Rochester Museum. The site lies at the base of a steep north-facing slope, OD between 10-15m.
