The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROLVENDEN MAYTHAM ROAD 1. 5272 (south-east side) Rolvenden Layne No 1 (Wesley House) TQ 8530 20/322 16.8.62. II GV
2. C15 or earlier timber-framed building originally with open hall but now 2 storeys with plaster infilling and curved braces the ground floor rebuilt in red brick. Hipped tiled roof. Four casement windows. In the centre of both floors is a bay window of 2 tiers of 7 lights with wooden mullions and transoms and diamond-shaped leaded panes. Gables over containing one attic window.
