WOODCHURCH BETHERSDEN ROAD 1. 5272 Great Engeham Manor (formerly listed as Great Engeham) TQ 93 NW 5/562 16.8.62. II
2. Probably C15 timber-framed building of 2 storeys with plaster infilling, the nothernmost window bay with curved braces, its first floor oversailing on the protruding ends of the floor joists, but the rest of the ground floor rebuilt in red brick. This is the north wing of a Wealden House. Hipped tiled roof C17 chimneystack. Four casement windows with wooden mullions and diamond-shaped leaded panes. One small bay on both floors containing a window of 2 tiers of 7 lights on the ground floor and of one tier of 5 lights above. Interior contains C15 dais beam to original open hall. Roof not original.
