Full Description
[TQ 72226942] Samian Patera & Coins found A.D. 1922 [T.I.] (1) Near where the paleaolithic implement was found on Watling Street at Strood, [see TQ 76 NW 18]Mr. G.E. Hutchings found a large grey Roman urn in fragments, and Mr G.E. Dibley found a small Roman urn of unglazed black ware, and a narrow necked vase of poor soft pink ware. All are in Rochester Museum.(2) During the reconstruction of Watling Street at Strood, a strap handledpatera of red glazed ware and coins of Licinius, Crispus and Constantine II were found. In Maidstone Museum (3). No further information. (4)
