The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 03 SW ORLESTONE THE STREET (west side) Hamstreet 6/92 Fairlawn GV II House. C18, altered early C19. Timber framed and weather boarded with plain tiled roof. Two storeys, with hipped roof and stacks to left and to end right. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes on 1st floor, and 2 bays on ground floor, to left with paired glazing bar sashes, to right with margin light French windows and top light. Central door of 6 panels, the top 2 glazed in moulded surround with cornice, with later flat roofed porch (originally tented).
