The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 CHARING MARKET PLACE Nos 1 and 2 TQ 9549 22/9 14.2.67 II 2. C15 timber-framed and close-studded building with plaster infilling, the ground floor rebuilt in painted brick. Tiled roof. Four casement windows, except for one sash window which has its glazing bars intact. Two storeys and attics with one gabled dormer.
