Listed Building record TQ 94 SW 99 - RAGSTONE

Summary

Five bay house with a two bay hall, formerly open to the roof. There is a contemporary and non-projecting wing at the lower end and a two bay rebuilt parlour end to the south. Rebuilding in all areas makes detailed analysis difficult, but it would appear that the main build is late medieval, dating to around 1500 or later, with the parlour end rebuilt around 1600. Later a brick stack was inserted, possibly in 1791. The ground floor walls have been largely rebuilt in Bethersden marble.
