Monument record TQ 76 NW 31 - Possible camp/enclosure, identified from cropmarks, Rochester/Wouldham boundary

Summary

An unknown enclosure was identified on an aerial photograph taken in 1928. An aerial photograph from just a few months later did not show this enclosure/camp. There is nothing to be seen at ground level but it is possible that farm buildings, such as cowsheds and pigsties, once existed in this area.

(Chatham S Nos 46and 54). (1) Nothing to be seen on the ground. The farmer could offer no useful suggestion as to the cause of these crop or soil marks, except to state that many years ago cowsheds or pig-sties existed in the area. (2). No further information.
